Did You Steal My Hat?
Senlis Dance Festival, 24th November 2024.
"Did You Steal My Hat?" is set to Mendelssohn's 1st Violin Concerto, inspired by a real-life incident where a misplaced hat led to confusion. It humorously explores the absurdity of human nature, reflecting on how our egos often drive us to react disproportionately to small events. The second movement explores the tension between the soul’s yearning and the ego’s limitations. Yet, in the end, as humans, we are imperfect, self-centered, and driven by fear—a truth the final movement embraces with humor.
